Silvia Novo obtained her degree in Mathematics and MSc in Statistical Techniques in the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela. She earned her PhD in Statistics and Operations Research from the Universidade da Coruña in December 2021. She was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Mathematics of Universidade da Coruña before joining the Department of Statistics at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid as an Assistant Professor in 2022. She is Associate Editor of Computational Statistics.

Her research primarily focuses on developing statistical methodologies related to functional data analysis, semiparametric regression, regularization methods, quantile regression, and computational statistics.
