Silvia Novo obtained her degree in Mathematics and her MSc in Statistical Techniques from the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela. She earned her PhD in Statistics and Operations Research from the Universidade da Coruña in December 2021. She was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Mathematics of Universidade da Coruña before joining the Department of Statistics at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid as an Assistant Professor in 2022. In September 2026, she moved to the Department of Statistics, Mathematical Analysis and Optimisation at the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela as an Assistant Professor. She is Associate Editor of Computational Statistics.

Her research primarily focuses on developing statistical methodologies related to functional data analysis, semiparametric regression, regularization methods, quantile regression, and computational statistics.
