Ewa Strzalkowska-Kominiak obtained her degree in Mathematics from the Warsaw University of Technology and then her PhD in Natural Sciences from Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen, where she worked as an Assistant in the Mathematical Institute from 2003 to 2008. She was a Postdoctoral Fellow from 2009 to 2012 at the Universidade da Coruña. She joined the Department of Statistics of Universidad Carlos III de Madrid for the first time in 2012 as a “Juan de la Cierva” fellow, and again in 2022 as a Visiting Professor. She has been an Associate Professor there since 2024.

Her research mainly focuses on the development of statistical methodologies in nonparametric statistics, survival analysis, and functional data analysis.
