Eduardo García-Portugués has been serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Statistics of Universidad Carlos III de Madrid since 2021. He joined the department in 2016 as an Assistant Professor and later held a “Juan de la Cierva–Incorporación” fellowship. Before that, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Mathematical Sciences of the University of Copenhagen from 2015 to 2016, after obtaining his PhD in Statistics and Operations Research from the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela in 2014. He is Associate Editor of the Journal of Computational and Graphical Statistics, the Annals of the Institute of Statistical Mathematics, Computational Statistics, and Statistics and Probability Letters.

His research mainly concerns the development of statistical methodologies related to complex and non-Euclidean data from the perspectives of mathematical, nonparametric, and computational statistics.
