Bio

Andrea Meilán-Vila obtained her PhD in Statistics and Operations Research from Universidade da Coruña in 2021. She was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Statistics, Mathematical Analysis and Optimisation at Universidade de Santiago de Compostela before joining the Department of Statistics at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid in 2021 as an Assistant Professor. Since 2023, she has been a “Juan de la Cierva” fellow in the same department.

Her research primarily focuses on the theoretical and methodological aspects of nonparametric estimation of density and regression functions, as well as goodness-of-fit tests for models involving complex data, such as directional, functional, or spatial data.
